Singapore May 26, 2006 -- AND the winner of IR & Casino Operator is... Las Vegas Sands.
Las Vegas Sands will be the 1st casino operator in Singapore.

The Casino operator promised to pump in $3.85 billion in investments, the Sands is expected to add $2.7 billion, or 0.8 per cent, to the Singapore economy by 2015.

The Casino operator will also create 25,000 jobs.

Wow... looking at the number, it sounds a big big boost to the economy... Casino has the power to lift the economy up, no doubt, it can attract lots of tourist, foreign spending will flow in, creating lots of business transaction and therefore enocomy will be good.

But, the downside... social problem, crime rate, our value system, are we putting a time bomb???

well, it is like a time capsule... we don't know now... only when 10 years, 20 years later, when we open the time capsule, look back, we can know whether it is a a right decision or not.
